"Voice and Choice for Every Woman | Building Young Women as Leaders of Change" i-Saksham is a grassroots nonprofit transforming leadership opportunities for young women from the most marginalized communities, esp. In Bihar. Founded in 2015, we nurture confident, capable, and purpose-driven women leaders ('Edu-Leaders') through a 2-year experiential fellowship grounded in education, gender equity, and community leadership. What We Do: Through the "Edu-Leader Fellowship", we support young rural women to: >"Claim their voice" by developing confidence, agency, and life skills. >"Create change" in families and communities by counselling and showcasing successes. >"Lead transformation" by promoting educational inclusion and civic participation >"Emerge as role models" by pursuing aspirations of their choice.. Our Impact: >1200+ Edu-Leaders trained since inception across 5 districts (Begusarai, Gaya, Jamui, Munger, Muzaffarpur) >25,000+ children & adolescents reached through school and community engagement >96% of families now trust their daughters’ decisions (vs 32% at entry) >70%+ alumni pursuing higher education or working in social/govt sectors (vs <12% Bihar avg.)
